If you are hiring a contractor to paint a home, business, interior, exterior or cabinets, meeting with the painting contractor is one of the most critical steps in the process of planning and completing your painting project. Inspect the conditions of the surface to be painted: A contractor should thoroughly inspect all surfaces

Measure the surfaces: A professional contractor will have production and spread rates figured out based upon previous jobs they have completed. If the contractor you are meeting with doesn’t take time to measure and calculate the square footage, linear footage, and prep work, it is likely they are guessing at how long the job will take.
