Transforming Cabinets with Stain Creates a New Look
We recently completed a full interior job in Davis, CA that included painting all the walls, ceilings, trim, painted cabinets, and refinishing maple cabinets. We constantly get customers who are surprised that we refinish cabinets because they don’t think of paint & refinishing together. Refinishing woodwork is something we do often. It can be woodwork, cabinets, stair railings, really anything that is stained or clear coated wood. We can transform the wood to something totally different. These pictures show us taking a maple cabinet and refinishing it to a cherry finish. The steps we take are to clean the surfaces, sand it, take the doors & drawers off, removing hinges, masking, spraying toners & stains, and a final coat of clear on top. We like to use a satin or matte finish, as we feel this gives a richer & deeper final finish. When you go with a semigloss clear finish it can often look plastic.
