5 Easy Tips for Choosing Your Exterior Paint Palette

When choosing exterior colors, it's important to take hues into affect, choosing the wrong color palette can effect the entire street. This may sound like a lot of pressure when it comes to choosing a palette, here are some tips to consider when choosing your exterior color palette.

Plan around elements that are hardest to change, such as roof shingles, tiles or stonework. Are they warm? (choose a beige, khaki, brown or rust) or cool (gray,blue or black).

Architectural Style and Era: For older homes, many paint manufactures offer collections of historically accurate colors.

Lighting and Samples: Exterior shades can vary significantly from the way they appear on the chip/swatch. Painting inconspicuous areas of your home is a good way to test out colors in different types of light, weather and or seasons.
